Fan Force have announced the cinema release and a series of special event screenings of Rosemary’s Way, the feature documentary that has charmed audiences at Festivals around the world.

Rosemary’s Way celebrates the remarkable Rosemary Kariuki, who is the 2021 Australian of the Year – Local Hero, and the group of vulnerable migrant women of suburban Sydney whose lives she helps transform from isolation to connection. From cultures as diverse as Iraq, the Congo and Peru, the women are taken by Rosemary on a powerful cross-cultural journey to integrate them into the homes and communities of everyday ‘Aussies’.

Directed by Ros Horin and produced by Pat Fiske, Rosemary’s Way is a story of transformation, hope and community. It is about how we all have a role to play in creating an open and welcoming Australia.

Rosemary’s Way premiered at the Sydney Film Festival last year and have since been selected for several Australian and international Festivals including Through Women’s Eyes (UN Women Film Festival), Julian Dubuque Film Festival, Docs Without Borders. Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival (US), CinefestOZ and BOFA.

The film also screened in Malaysia recently as part of the Australian High Commission’s International Women’s Day celebrations.

As well as reaching cinema audiences, the film is having a powerful impact in the community. The aim of the impact campaign is to give established Australians and migrant women the means with which to connect with each other. The filmmakers are developing a roadshow screening tour and Community Activation Kit to be released in collaboration with our partners:  Country Women’s Association, Settlement Council of Australia, Settlement Services International, Community Migrant Resource Centre and The African Women’s Group.
