Cinema Nova to give 10% of ticket income to bushfire relief this Thursday
In the wake of the devastating bushfires occurring around Australia, Cinema Nova will contribute 10% of box office income from this Thursday, January 9, to the Australian Red Cross.
The Australian Red Cross is raising funds to support emergency service teams who are responding to the current fires which have burnt through 5.8 million hectares across Australia, and will have a continuing impact on people, communities, their land and livelihood.
Cinema Nova’s General Manager Kristian Connelly says “Cinema Nova recognises the horrific nature of the bushfires nationwide and wanted to act quickly to help those in need. The community’s show of support has been heartening and we’d like to do our part.”
Cinema Nova is also collecting cash donations at the Candy Bar and Box Office which will be evenly distributed between Wildlife Victoria, the CFA Bushfire Disaster Appeal and the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund.
Movie session times for Thursday January 9 will appear on the Cinema Nova website on the afternoon of Tuesday January 7. Pre-purchased tickets will be included in the donation total.
